IELTS/TOFEL Requirements

English is not the first language for most of international students. In Canada, English is the primary medium of instruction. Therefore, it is essential to have a good understanding of verbal and written English to ensure excellent results in the study. Hence, it is mandatory for potential candidates to demonstrate proficiency in English. Torbram College of Business, Technology & Healthcare considers the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOFEL) exams which test the candidates’ expertise in English. Both exams test four aspects of the English language – reading, writing, listening and speaking. It is the candidate’s choice to give on the two exams to demonstrate their level of expertise in English. The minimum scores that the candidate should possess are:

Diploma/Certificate

• IELTS: 6.0 bands (no less that 5.5 bands)
• TOFEL: 80 scores

Graduate Certificate

• IELTS: 6.0 bands (no less that 5.5 bands)
• TOFEL: 88 scores
