Canada Ontario Job Grant

The Canada Ontario Job Grant (COJG) offers financial support to employers who want to purchase training for their employees. This grant is available for small, medium and large businesses who plan to deliver short-term training to existing as well as new employees.

Information for Employers

• Employers can get up to $10,000 in government support per person for training costs
• The training has to be delivered by an eligible third-party trainer
• Also, Employers with 100 or more employees need to contribute 1/2 of the training costs
• Small employers with less than 100 employees need to contribute 1/6 of training costs

Eligibility Criteria for Employers

Employers looking to apply for the Canada Job Grant must meet the following requirements:

• Licensed to operate in Ontario
• Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Employment Standards Act
• Along with maintain appropriate Workplace Safety and Insurance Board or private workplace safety insurance coverage. Moreover, Have adequate third party general liability insurance as advised by its insurance broker
• Comply with all applicable federal and provincial human rights legislation, regulations, and other relevant standards, Beside this has to be a federal, provincial or municipal government and/or agency

Eligibility Criteria for Trainees

Employers applying for Canada Ontario Job Grant can train existing or new employees that must:

• Reside in Ontario
• Also, be a Candian citizen or permanent resident or a protected person
• Not be enrolled as a full time student
