Second Career

The Second Career Grant was initiate by Ontario’s Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities to assist laid-off employees to get an education so that they can progress in their careers. Moreover, It can help provide financial aid up to $28,000 CAD. If the candidate meets the eligibility criteria the costs of tuition, transportation, supplies, child care and living expenses are covered by this grant.

Eligibility Criteria
  • You have been laid off and not been working
  • You have been laid off and are doing a temporary job to cover costs
  • Previous recipients of Employment Insurance (EI)
Application Preparation

If you fulfill the eligibility criteria, it is important that you show the following details when preparing for your application:

  • Proof of attempts made to acquire a position using cover letters, CV and responses from potential employers
  •  Level of education obtained proof.
  • Proof of previous employment and time period of it
  • Skills that were require in previous employment
  •  Skills you want to obtain for your career and the institution where you can learn them from
